ILERA Apothecary 2019 in review

Greetings!

We hope you are taking the time to relax, reflect and rejuvenate this last week of the decade. As 2019 and this decade comes to a close we have so much to be grateful for.

Many of you have watched our year through emails, social media, and personal interactions. You know that we had many wins and a few crushing losses, yet we are still here.

In 2019, we were able to impact the lives of many students by hosting workshops teaching the science behind some of our favorite products such as bug spray and bath bombs with our partners at Big Brother Big Sister Detroit and Michigan Science Center’s STEMinista Project

Similarly, we hosted adult workshops with The Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, Supernatural Lingerie and The Sister’s Couch, teaching guests how to make items ranging from Rose Petal Bath Salts to Solid Perfumes.

We received great press from local news stations and even landed a feature in VOGUE! How amazing is that?!?!

Our intern Kristina took you all on a journey through the streets of Jacmel, Haiti, bringing additional vibrancy and essence into the brand.

Putting ourselves out there, we entered many competitions, made it to the final rounds and ended up winning only one, but hey, one is better than none and the experience of losing is better than not doing it at all so, in our minds, we won.

At the end of the year, we opened a store in Corktown, Detroit. It was a prototype of what our future store will be like. We hosted many events, carried a range of products and welcomed our guests with a smile and warm hugs.

Overall, 2019 was one for the books and was a pivotal year in the growth of both our business and personal lives. As 2020 rings in we wish you good health, a positive mindset and of course vibrant skin.

Thank you so much for making this year what it was and Happy New Year!
